The first step is to convince your mind that your task is possible and easy. Rob can tell you first hand how this works. Even just recently, here’s what happened: He had an outrageous goal. He convinced himself that it was possible. He set out to accomplish his goal. And guess what – it got hard. Projections were low, new obstacles popped up all over the place. But because Rob believed that his goal was possibly and easy, he was able to double down and persevere.

Changing What You Think You’re Capable Of – Ep 23

When Rob lived in Italy, he learned a valuable lesson: Basically, you can accomplish, more or less, what you believe you’re capable of accomplishing. If we put restrictions on ourselves and believe that low-hanging fruit is difficult to reach, then it will be difficult to reach. But if we think climbing to the top of the tree is well within our abilities, we can ascend the tree with little problem.

Which Matters Most? The Idea or the Execution of the Idea? – Ep 17

In Episode 17 of Marketing Podcast Weekly, your hosts Rob Booker and Jason Pyles receive an email from James who poses some thought-provoking questions about “the idea” and the execution of the idea. Some people believe that the execution is what matters most. Others argue that the execution is a moot point, if the idea isn’t worthy or substantial in the first place.

So, we spend some time exploring the concept of having an original idea, and we talk about the importance of having a twist or a “hook” to enhance it. We also talk about the simplicity of the premise and whether there’s a difference in value between a simple premise and a complicated one.

In Episode 17, we also discuss how simple ideas tend to be the easiest to implement but hardest to sell. If something seems too good to be true, human nature often makes us feel skeptical or leery.
